SALEM BAPTIST CHURCH OF CHICAGO., (2006 - 2006)
Director of Technology
Hired to establish and manage the church’s IT Department.  Research, recommend and facilitate the deployment of technologies, processes and standards into the church. Collaborate with the Directors of the church’s ministries and management team to capture business requirements for the development of applications that will enable the church to use technology to better communicate with its membership of over 23,000 in a timely and cost effective manner.
 

MY PEOPLE, INC., (2004 - 2005)
Consultant/Acting Chief Technology Officer
Retained by CEO / President to establish and manage company’s IT Department for this start-up Web-based ASP to religious organizations. Research, recommend and facilitate the deployment of technologies, processes and standards into the organization. Collaborate with management team to capture business requirements for the development of company’s core interactive networking and member management product, My People Social Network System.

Recommend, gain approval and direct the development of new My People Social Network system, utilizing Offshore / Onshore blended delivery model. Initiate and manage relationship with infrastructure hosting partner. Define and monitor contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Direct multiple, simultaneous projects to ensure adherence to project scope, timelines and budgets. Manage risk assessment, issue resolution and change management initiatives.
 
Selected Accomplishments:
Spearheaded all efforts to design, develop and test My People Social Network System, utilizing .NET and MS SQL Server 2000 technology.
Established and coordinated efforts of Offshore Development team in Bangalore, India.
Defined and led the deployment of infrastructure, development tools, and databases to optimally support newly developed system.

CLASSIFIED VENTURES, LLC., (1999 - 2004)
Built impressive record of achievements and advancements for this strategic joint-venture owned and funded by six large media partners to provide online classified advertising services for automotive, apartments, and real estate products.

Advanced and given full P&L accountability to manage all efforts for Apartment.com Web site. Challenged to define and implement strategy to integrate previously decentralized IT operations into a single Division. Provided leadership and framework to actively identify needs and respond to critical issues. Led Offshore / Onshore development teams of up to 21 through 6 direct reports in developing and implementing enhancements to Site. Defined and monitored budgets of up to $2.5M.

APPLICATIONS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (1999 - 2002)
Recruited to conceive, develop and execute strategy to build an internal Applications Development team, replace existing consultants and enhance profits. Created and presented Onshore/Offshore development model to executive management for approval. Established and managed relationship with Offshore development company and team. Recruited, trained, mentored and directed efforts of internal Developers and Business Analysts.

Managed cross-functional teams of up to 21 throughout the full project life cycle design, development and enhancement of applications for Apartments.com, MovingCenter.com and NewHomeNetwork.com Sites. Established and lead flexible and dynamic project teams capable of responding quickly to changing business requirements and customer needs. Planned, tracked and monitored all aspects of multiple projects, and introduced new processes to position organization for advanced growth.
 
Selected Accomplishments:
Captured more than $3.5M in development costs through the introduction of Offshore development strategy within 2.5 years, positioning organization for IPO. Awarded Outstanding Achievement Award, 2000.
Created company’s software development / project life cycle methodology to enhance on-time delivery of projects and resolution of issues. Solution was recognized for facilitating the delivery of 95% of projects, on-time and within budget, and meeting or exceeding all functionality.
Planned and project managed the migration of application server infrastructure from MS Windows NT to 2000.

Fast-track promotions through a 9-year career for this $500M Information and Computer Decision Support company servicing the consumer packaged goods industry. Advanced based on consistent contributions to revenue growth, cost reduction, offshore strategy development, and team leadership.
 

SYSTEMS DIRECTOR (1997 - 1999)
Promoted and given full leadership, negotiating and decision making responsibility to establish an Offshore / Onshore development methodology that resulted in a $1.2 million reduction in development costs. Established strategic relationships with Offshore development partner and its staff, defined procedures and Interface Control Documentation, and created communication apparatus to support new strategy. Managed and coordinated efforts of cross-functional teams in designing, developing, testing and implementing enhancements to 7 mission-critical systems.

Led the conversion of MS Access based Corporate Quality Tracking System to Visual Basic and ORACLE technology.
 

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR (1994 - 1997)
Advanced to direct cross-functional teams of up to 15 in appropriately designing new, and enhancing existing key systems to automate previous manual functions and increase efficiency. Oversee all aspects of projects, from initial requirements analysis and design through development, testing and production support.

Selected Accomplishments:
Project managed the design and implementation of the Ticket Management System to allow the Corporate Travel Department to reconcile all issued tickets, and reduce travel costs incurred due to lost commissions and credits. Solution was recognized for capturing more than $250K in savings within 1st year.
Directed the development of an Activity-Based Cost Accounting system to successfully integrate all corporate business systems.
 

MANAGER OF ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS (1990 - 1994)
Directed the full project life cycle design, development and implementation of enhancements to company’s mission-critical Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Management Accounting, Human Resources Information Systems, and Travel Management systems. Managed team of Business Analysts in capturing and documenting functional requirements, designing reports and on-line screens, and creating end-user and departmental procedures to reduce costs and increase productivity.

Selected Accomplishments:
Introduced cross-departmental closing procedures into financial systems, reducing monthly accounting closing cycle and enhancing productivity of Accounting and Finance Departments.
Designed and implemented preventative procedures, reducing batch processing production issues by 75%.
Successfully resolved processing issues with General Ledger system, reducing batch cycle from 12 to 4 hours.
Led the deployment of upgrade and maintenance releases for the Integral Financial Systems.
